Mindfulness of breathing is a widely practiced technique that quiets the mind, eases tension and promotes insight. First described by the Buddha 2600 years ago, it is a powerful and flexible technology of consciousness. When practiced with compassion and tenderness, it leads us to spiritual maturity and happiness. In this class, we’ll focus on how the body breathes and how we can feel it breathing. Through imagery and guided meditation, we’ll connect with key structures of head, chest and belly which support breathing. We’ll learn to practice mindfulness of breath in a deeply curious, intimate and loving way.
