Mastering Stillwaters

ID : 6245
« back to classes page
Welcome to the new normal of climate change. Fly fishers now find fewer “fishable” streams, often
the result of drought or extreme run off. Lakes and ponds are an option but they require different
skills, techniques and fly patterns. This introduction to stillwater fisheries hones needed casting skills
and delves into the entomology of lakes and how this affects our patterns, timing and techniques.
The course includes field trips and casting instruction with locations changing according to
conditions. Set aside a weekend or two for field trips!
Students will need to provide some sort of personal watercraft such as a float tube, pontoon boat or
kayak.
