ID : 4204
« back to classes page
This course is intended for students between the ages of 18 and 80 with no previous dance background who would like to learn the basic technical and social skills associated with East Coast Swing Dance. This style of dance is great for partner dancing to jazz, blues, rock and ballads! In addition to learning a routine consisting of the basics of the dance, students will also learn how to lead and follow the figures outside of a routine format.  Students
will also learn how to interact with others appropriately in a social dance setting.  Instructor will arrange one field trip for students to attend a local swing dance as a group. Students will also be given the opportunity to learn to both lead and follow as opposed to traditional social dance classes where only men lead, and only women follow.  In addition to instruction, students will be given ample time to practice their skills to music.
