This course is a continuation of Beginning Guitar Skills. We will continue to explore preparatory to intermediate classical solos for the guitar (RCM Level Prep to at least Level 2), guitar ensemble works, song accompaniment skills and improvisation, as well as advanced technique including scales and arpeggios. Recommended experience: prior participation in Beginning Guitar Skills or the following: note reading in first position, ability to count rhythms from whole notes to dotted quarter notes, basic classical fingerstyle technique and basic chords in first position. A nylon-stringed instrument is highly recommended for this class, mainly for ease of playing and tonal control.
