Did you know that the average adult picks up their phone 96 times a day? And, did you know you can find your daily use in the iPhone settings? This class will instruct you in digital wellbeing and help you use your smartphone more mindfully and conscientously, a growing need as we spend more time on our smartphones and depend on them to help us organize our daily routines. We will talk about the attention economy and provide simple and practical ways to resist it. We will review vital steps we need to take for digital privacy and security. The class will also provide worksheets that help you initiate better routines and habits with your smartphone. In our final class, a mini-retreat at Indian Valley Campus, we will reflect on these worksheets. Note: this course does not instruct you in how to set up your phone or use particular software programs.
